The Scriptures Spoke Of Him – Feasts of the Lord 4

The Scriptures Spoke Of Him

We have finally gotten to the sweet part of this journey. Congrats for staying tuned.

Okay. Let’s dive in. But.. we are first going to talk about Jesus. Because.. well, He’s Jesus 😍

After Jesus’ resurrection, he appeared to two of his troubled disciples on the road to Emmaus. They felt so sad 😢 concerning the event of Jesus’ death. They couldn’t recognize him at first.

I don’t want to get into the story. Read Luke 24 for that.

So after they told this strange guy (Jesus) about their Master’s (Jesus) death and how they found out that his body was apparently stolen 🤫

Jesus began to open their understanding 👇🏼

Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, Jesus explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures .

Luke 24:27

When you see Moses & The Prophets, it basically refers to the Old Testament books.

This was right after the season of Unleavened Bread which consists of the Passover and First fruits.

Jesus opened their understanding of how these events (feasts) that were established in the Scriptures back in Moses’ day actually prophesied about His death and resurrection.

Later, Jesus appeared to His disciples and continued that lesson 👇

Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled .” Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures…

Luke 24: 44‭-‬45

What’s the big deal here?

You want to understand the agenda of God for creation in and through Jesus, you have to understand the scriptures. And by Scriptures .. Have you seen Jesus’ list?

That’s basically all the Old Testament books.

The entire Bible is a wonderfully woven story of God’s Relationship & Kingdom agenda with humans in and through Jesus.

If you just focus on just the “New Testament.” You’d miss it.

They are like the two witnesses….

Every fact is to be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses .

2 Corinthians 13:1

If you want to understand the deep things of God, you have to be able to connect the two sides of the story from the Old and New. You’d be surprised, what you’d find.

A little teaser…

To fully grasp the Book of Revelation, you have to be able to connect it to the first five books of the Old Testament. Did you know that the Book of Revelation is also like an expanded and updated version of the Book of Daniel?

More on that when we touch on that Book.

No wonder Jesus had to open their understanding to the Scriptures (Old Testament). It is why He sent the Holy Spirit to just that.

So as we delve into the Feasts…You’d be amazed how the entire Bible, the Old and New, are connected in amazing ways to showcase the multifaceted wisdom of God in Christ Jesus.

You’d love it ♥️

So when Jesus appeared to them. He also opened their understanding of God’s timelines on the feasts and how he fulfilled them in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Then he added:

And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you, but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Luke 24:49

It’s most likely that he opened their understanding of the next Feast event (Pentecost) and what would be fulfilled before telling them to stay in Jerusalem to celebrate that event.

While others came from all over to celebrate Pentecost the way it’s been celebrated since…

These disciples locked themselves up and began praying in expectation till that feast was fulfilled through the Holy Spirit, inaugurating the church – The Body of Jesus.

Now that your understanding has been opened to the connection of the two parts of the beautiful Bible story

It’s time to get on tackling the Feasts. We would explore how Jesus (and His Body) fulfilled the Spring Feasts in His first coming (and Work).

Afterwards, we would be lead on a rollercoaster of sweetness as we see how the next set of Feasts reveal what would be fulfilled in the Second Coming and Work of Jesus (and His Body)

Stay Tuned 😉
