Feasts of Trumpets – The Other Resurrection

Please make sure to follow the previous episodes of the Feast of Trumpets. It’s getting juicer.

In the previous episode, we learnt about the special resurrection called the First Ressurection. We also realized that, not all believers will partake in the First Resurrection.

The First Resurrection has these qualities:

βœ… Only Believers (Christians) are raised

βœ… Not all Believers will partake of it.

Since there is a First Resurrection which is so special that Paul testified that he’s pushing and pressing on so that he “may” attain it. . .

Then what of this other resurrection? This Second Resurrection that is different from the first?
Let’s hear Jesus himself talk about it πŸ‘‡πŸ½:

Do not be amazed at this; for a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come out: those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the bad deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

John 5:28-29

Go back and read it again. Jesus said that there will be a resurrection where all who are in tombs will be raised. Then those who did the good would experience Life. Those who did bad would experience judgement.

This is definitely not the First Resurrection, because here, all are resurrected –both righteous and unrighteous. The righteous are resurrected unto life, and the unrighteous are resurrected unto judgement, all this will occur at the same event.

What Jesus spoke about was later recorded by the Apostle John in the Book of Revelation… Let’s check it out πŸ‘‡

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them.

And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.

And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them; and they were judged, each one of them according to their deeds.

Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:11-15

Seen this again? Just like what Jesus said. For those who didn’t experience the First Resurrection…Both Believers and Unbelievers would be resurrected, and they would be judged.

But the Believers will move on to Life while the Unbelievers will. . . hmmmm πŸ˜”

If it was just a resurrection for Unbelievers..there wouldn’t be a need for all that. They would just be thrown into the “Lake of Fire”
(Something I’ll teach on after the Feasts on my Next Series: Judgements of the Lord).

Go back and read the last verse again. It says that after the Book of Life is opened…your name would be checked. If it’s not in the Book of Life, that person would be cast into the Lake.

This also implies …like Jesus said.. that obviously there will be those whose names would be found in the Book of Life. These are Believers…The Righteous.

This is how the Second Resurrection would be like for those who missed the First Flight (Resurrection)
Here are the qualities:

βœ… It’s a resurrection of both the Righteous and Unrighteous. Both Christians and Unbelievers

βœ… There will be a judgement. However, the Righteous are resurrected to Life and the Unbelievers are cast into the Lake.

This is very different from the First Ressurection of ONLY the Righteous who actually played good roles in pushing the Kingdom Agenda forward.

They fought a good fight of faith, overcame and attained the crown to experience the First Resurrection and reign with Christ for a millennium.

Don’t worry. We will discuss more about these Overcomers in this series. Get ready.

Let’s wrap it up with this second resurrection. We have heard from Jesus, as well as from Apostle John.
Definitely, you should know by now that our dear Apostle Paul would have something to say about it too. Let’s hear him 😊

But I confess this to you, that in accordance with the Way, which they call a sect, I do serve the God of our fathers, believing everything that is in accordance with the Law and is written in the Prophets;

having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.

Acts 24:14-15

That was Paul’s testimony before Felix.
Did you see it?
A resurrection of BOTH the Righteous and the Wicked.
Both Believers and Unbelievers.

So this is obviously not the First Ressurection. It’s the next one.

It’s why the same Paul spoke of counting all as dung so that he may know Christ to the purpose that he may attain the “Out-ressurection from the Dead” (Philippians 3:10-11)

The Resurrection that comes first before the main resurrection of both the Righteous and Unbelievers.

In fact let’s continue from there:πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;

if somehow I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus.

Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Therefore, all who are mature, let’s have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that to you as well; however, let’s keep living by that same standard to which we have attained.

Philippians 3:10-16

Wow. Just wow. This First Resurrection must be something else. Cos the Bible says that these are the people who will reign with Christ for a thousand years.

To reign alongside Christ… You don’t just give your life to Christ and not do much to attain this honor. Even Paul with all his works.. was saying “somehow that he may attain.”

That honor of the First Resurrection is what Paul called the prize for the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

What a prize to Reign With Christ in that age!

So back to you ….

What about you?
Which resurrection do you want to be a part of?

I know my answer. Anticipate the next episode. We are going even deeper. πŸ’ͺ🏽

Until Then…Bye πŸ‘‹πŸ½
